25 July - The horn fair is a centuries old that was revived in Ebernoe in 1864. The current festivities aurround a cricket match between the Ebernoe team and that of a nearby village. The highest scoring batsman receives a pair of horns taken from a sheep that the villages had been roasting throughout the day.

Bodmin means the house of the monks, and this was an ecclesiastical town until the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII.
The original monastery dedicated to St Petroc was founded in the 6th Century. St Petroc's bones are believed to be kept in an ivory casket in the crypt of St Petroc's Church.
Bodmin also boasts eleven wells, many of which are reputed to have healing powers.
