| Warminster |
Warminster was the centre of a UFO flap during the 1960's and 70's and became a UFO Mecca for many years. UFO groups and interested people held many sky watches in the area. Specifically from Cradle Hill and Starr Hill.
The first apparent sighting of a UFO was during the Christmas of 1964, but it was a photograph of a UFO taken by Gordon Faulkner which sparked public interest. The photo, which looked like a spinning top, was published in the Daily Mirror, after which there were many sightings of objects of various shapes and sizes.
There have been few sightings in recent years but the town is still remembered in the annals of UFO lore.

| Woodhenge |
 |
Woodhenge is much older than Stonehenge and is aligned to the Midsummer sunrise. The monument consisted of concentric rings of tall wooden posts and must have been an impressive sight when it was completed. Rings of concrete markers now mark where the posts would have originally stood.
During excavation of the site the skull of a three year old child was discovered in the centre of the circle with a cut in the skull. The child may have served as a sacrifice for the site but nobody really knows.
