What Films Have You Watched Recently?

Just watched first half hour of Rightous Kill, and I've abandoned it, left my husband watching it, it's sooooo boring and a bit hard to follow, Deniro & Pacino just don't suit the part, (too old) great actors but not for this movie..... anyone else watched it and did you enjoy it better than me?

I think apart from Shrek being on the telly at someone's flat at the weekend, the last film I sat down and watched was probably Alien.

I can't even rate that film- there's no rating scale that can do it justice! It's Alien, fer cryin' out loud!

American Werewolf in London.  Just saw it again and I love the Slaughtered Lamb.  The accents, decore, flat caps.....all makes me homesick.

I remember walking into a strange pub in Maryport once.  The windows must have been boarded up as it was pitch dark inside.  You could make of out the faint glow of cigarette tips and smoke form around the room so you knew you weren't alone.  The faint light behind the bar cast the barman/maid (?) in shadow and the west cumbrian dialect was unintelligable.  Nice friendly place though and I didn't get attacked by a werewolf so it all ended well....Howowowoellll.

Godzilla (Gojira) in the orginal Japanese version.  The only problem with it was the subtitles were hard to read in spots.  Worth watching in my opinion.

 Friend of mine saw Valkyrie and liked it. I mean, predicable ending and all, but I think it's a good wartime romp with some interesting gritty bits. 
Slumdog millionaire is also very much worth seeing, although you could argue that the main character is somewhat weak. Not sure if that's a bad thing or quite what. Anyway, it's something i might consider picking up on DVD. 

Other than that ... lots and lots of obscure asian cinema- not sure if anyone else would be interested in that :/

I don't see why not.  I love films like the Seven Samurai, Battle Royale and even some of the anime releases.

Still maintain that Princess Mononoke is one of the most beautiful films ever produced. Even if you despise anime and all it's worth, give it a look-in!

Gran Torino by and starring Clint Eastwood.
The older he gets the better he is, an absolutely wonderful film.

Great movie, fantastic acting by Mickey Rourke, he obviously had a lot of empathy for his character.
Only down side of the movie for me was spending most of it shaking my head and wondering why (In real life) such a handsome bloke succumbed to all the Hollywood bullshit and went down the cosmetic surgery route, very sad.

The Orphanage (same director as Pan's Labryinth. just as creepy.I recommend it)
