I watched another film on a flight about wrestling with Mickey Rourke too. I can't remember it's name, but it's probably something cheesy like THE WRESTLER . It's entertaining, but I'm not gonna buy it.
Watched this movie again yesterday, and I just love it.
The whole movie has a dreamy feeling about it,and the plot was great, enjoyed a plot this much last when I saw The Village.
Can highly reccomend The Illusionist.Jessica Biehl was believable in it,although she is not one of my fav actresses.
Watched this last night. Christian Bale as a haunted, chronic insomniac, who works at a machine plant - he knows there's something not quite right about his life, though he's not sure what or why. The plot spins a complex web of paranoia and misdirection as he attempts to join the dots in his life.
The film reminds me a little of Memento.
I loved Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood is wonderful as always.
I also watched The Changeling, but the one from the 70's,not the Jolie one. Classic spooky movie it is. Ghost of a tortured child, old house with history, tormented new occupant, rickety old cane wheelchair and the hook.............a red ball simply bouncing down the stairs.
The latest film in the Terminator series..............brilliant. Well worth going to watch and it makes up for the disappointing Terminator 3.
Hey Ian, I also felt it was pretty cool. Nowhere near as good as the first, but then that's a given I suppose, but a good effort. My only gripe is that it seemed to play out a bit too much like a blockbuster video game like Halflife 2 or something, but still pretty good!
Speaking of The Village, the final parts of the movie were filmed in an area called Devil's Woods, near Cossart Road in Chadd's Ford, Pennsylvania (outside Philadelphia). Interesting thing is that the woods are, indeed, the subject of many urban legends centering on buildings within them and creatures that roam the woods. Shyamalan's from Philadelphia, most of his movies thus far have been filmed in the area.
That said, last I watched was Gojira (1954) for the eighty thousandth time.
Just watched Coraline and The Watchmen. Both are absolutely brilliant.
The former has nothing to do with my visceral love for these wierd artworks so favored by Tim Burton and other artists of his school. It's a great movie and it's good it hasn't been marketed for children since the novel it's based on it is not suitable for children.
The latter... well I don't like superhero movies at the best of times but this one is a shining exception. The Comedian is an absolutely great character.

"Louhi spoke in riddled tones of three things to achieve: find and catch the Devil's Moose and bring it here to me. Seize the Stallion born of Fire, harness the Golden Horse. He captured and bound the Moose, he tamed the Golden Horse. Still there remained one final task: hunt for the Bird from the Stream of Death"
-Kalevala, Rune XIII-
I saw The Watchmen when it first came out. Though I know many who hate it and some who actually walked out during the film because they were bored. However, I totally loved it and can't wait to watch it again. I was so like the famous comic it was unreal. You can recognise the comics panels in each of the films scenes.
You have to watch 'District 9', it is excellent. I was very wary when it started as it was like a documentary but it is an excellent film. Aliens arrived 20 years ago in Johannesburg and settled in ghetto's under their dormant ship. I couldn't help talking with a South African accent for hours afterwards lol.
'No Aliens Allowed'
The remains of this once grand house has a reputation of being haunted and associated with a vampire legend. The property is private and you cannot gain access but the story of Eastbury House and its past owners is certainly interesting. Read More »
