Got a strange problem
A few weeks ago, I heard the sound of vessels being moved around in the kitchen at night. When I went in to investigate, there was nothing. This happened twice or thrice the same night. The next day I thoroughly cleansed the house with salt and incense. We had no problems for a few weeks, but yesterday we heard the noise again. The windows were closed, nothing appeared to be moved around; yet this sound of vessels being banged about. It is annoying. I wish there was some rational explanation for this. I have never seen a spook in my life and don't want to share my home with one. But how else do I account for these noises, the feelings of unease, the feeling of being watched, and the fact that I keep losing things?? Any comments will be gratefully accepted.

Probably the plumbing
Try keeping a note each time it occurs and see if there is any pattern to it. Chances are it is likely to be something rather mundane and disappointing but you should try to look for natural explanations before accepting a paranormal one.
If there no signs of intrusion I would simply not pay attention to it. Most people have no idea how noisy a normal (not haunted) house is at night, especially during the winter. Plumbing is the first culprit, as metal tubes cool down and heat up, then there are wood planks (same reason) and then there's the pot placed in a precarious position after dinner... and if the house's over thirty years old it gets much worse!
By the way have you recently moved in/refurbished the house?

What do you mean by vessels please? Does it sound like anything specific?
I would look at all possible logical explanations first and people here have given a lot of possible candidates! Maybe you should set up a camcorder downstairs if you want to try and see if anything is visible.
If you do reckon it is haunted then you maybe have to question why? As Mauro has mentioned, has there been any refurbishings to the house that may or may not have set something off? Have you bought anything second hand recently? Is one person in particular being 'followed'?
You say you have cleansed but have you protected the grounds of the house and the members of the family? Made sure there is no way anything could enter through heath, to windows, doors etc. Salt is supose to protect but I don't know if it has been traditionally used to cleanse.
Actually I was referring to the "New House Syndrome". MysteryShopper posted a very interesting link about it a while ago.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!
I thank you all for the responses. I would like a rational explanation for this one. Well, the house is just three years old. So what is the New House Syndrome? Never heard of it! I guess that is something new for me to learn. I am not sure if plumbing can make so much noise.
By vessels, I mean the pots, pans, plates, spoons, and so on that is kept in the kitchen.
I have observed that salt and incense keeps the spook (if it is a spook) away.
"New House Syndrome" Just means your not use to your new house yet
Sorry for the misunderstanding!
No problem. :-D
