Try keeping a note each time it occurs and see if there is any pattern to it.  Chances are it is likely to be something rather mundane and disappointing but you should try to look for natural explanations before accepting a paranormal one.

If there no signs of intrusion I would simply not pay attention to it. Most people have no idea how noisy a normal (not haunted) house is at night, especially during the winter. Plumbing is the first culprit, as metal tubes cool down and heat up, then there are wood planks (same reason) and then there’s the pot placed in a precarious position after dinner… and if the house’s over thirty years old it gets much worse!
By the way have you recently moved in/refurbished the house?

What do you mean by vessels please? Does it sound like anything specific?

I would look at all possible logical explanations first and people here have given a lot of possible candidates! Maybe you should set up a camcorder downstairs if you want to try and see if anything is visible.

If you do reckon it is haunted then you maybe have to question why? As Mauro has mentioned, has there been any refurbishings to the house that may or may not have set something off? Have you bought anything second hand recently? Is one person in particular being ‘followed’?

You say you have cleansed but have you protected the grounds of the house and the members of the family? Made sure there is no way anything could enter through heath, to windows, doors etc. Salt is supose to protect but I don’t know if it has been traditionally used to cleanse.

I thank you all for the responses. I would like a rational explanation for this one. Well, the house is just three years old. So what is the New House Syndrome? Never heard of it! I guess that is something new for me to learn. I am not sure if plumbing can make so much noise.

By vessels, I mean the pots, pans, plates, spoons, and so on that is kept in the kitchen.

I have observed that salt and incense keeps the spook (if it is a spook) away.

    Hi
New to the site….ok lets look into this just a little more.
You say this is a new home….ok first off do you or can you find out what was on the land before the new house or homes were bluilt? try your local contcil.
Also strange noises are not alway paranormal….remember noise can carry over long distantests at night the sounds your hearing may not even be coming from your house, even tho it sounds like it is.
I had a email from a clinet the other week telling we she could hear a baby caying late at night she was worried because she had lost her baby around 2/3 weeks ago she was so distressed about it, it tured out the crying was a not her lost baby trying to get in touch but the cats in the street below fighting.
They may sound like they are…..but in fact they maybe coming from down the street.
You say you can hear pots, pans ect are there any restaurants, takeaway, fast food outlets close by? even next door?.or…across the road.?
Now are the sounds happening at the same time the nights you hear them? or are they just random?…have you heard them in the day time
You say that ever time you clean the house the sounds seem to go away….is this just by chance that what even or how ever is making the sounds have stopped working for the time being.
Ok now once you have sorted out all the above….your need to start your own little investgation….
    1. keep a log on every time you hear the sounds times, dates, type of sounds.
    2. Set up a camcorda in the kichen you maybe able to catch what is going on.
    3. place a recording device in the kitchen see if you can catch the sound also.
    4. stay in the area with the camorda, and recording device running ask questions see if you can get any respones.
    5. look back on what you have fond review it make a clear fair opinion on what you have and try  understanding it.
    6. remember once you have elimiated all the possabilites what even is left how ever unlikely it maybe is the most probable explanation.
Sorry to ask all these question but you need to debunk (sort the facts out first).
Also you say you have the feeling of being watch…this is a common feeling i have meny peolpe say this now this could be down to the fact your head is telling you your hearing theses strange sounds,so its already working overtime!
Do you have a large flat screen tv?…..low lighting….over head power lines or power station or airport close by?……sorry more questions…..look up EMF fields on the internet your see were im heading

    hope this helps

Strange sounds happen all the time in old houses.  Heck, I live in a brick monstrosity that you wouldn’t usually associate with thermal sounds, yet we still have creaking and groaning sounds in the tower all the time from wind and the planking.  (At least, I think it’s the planking.  I don’t go up much further then the ringer’s roost usually.  The bell itself is a long way up and the only way up further is an extremely not safe ladder)

    Hi Englishpsychic.,
You say the house is only 3 years old. Can you find out what was on that piece of land prior to the housebuild or what may be buried under the house. This info if you can get it may give a clue as to whats going on.
Do the disturbances happen regularly at specific times or are they random ?
Have you neighbours  ?   Might try and ask them if they have disturbances.

    Hi,
About 5 years ago we were woken up in the night by pots and pans making noises in our kitchen and on investigating nothing was ever seen. But late one evening I found the cause, It was a RAT clambering over our utensiles and it used to retreat quickly behind our units and I could never find it. It was cunning. We phoned the council and the pest controller came around and put down poison. After a few nights it had gone, we never found it so we think it escaped through the open window. Also found were little piles of food in hard to get corners etc. We now have a cat.

    Re: Got a strange problem
I may be a little late to this posting but I can relate to the unexplained noises. When myself, partner and son moved into our house, which was only 10 years old, with a week shadows, thick and swift would sweep across the room, or flutter like a bird just under the ceiling. Very soon one sunny summer morning I heard unexplained rythmic beating which seems to be overhead and coming from the roof or at least overhead. I searched outside and there was nothing different. No bird on the roof and no machinery, this is a cul-de-sac so not hard to miss anything. Much later I heard the same sound coming from a film on Roman warriors, as they approached a battle…! Later, my son rushed out of his bedroom with his replica ‘Lord of the Rings’ sword to contront whoever he heard in the kitchen…….it was loud enough to alarm him. Again, soldiers were heard marching by me whilst still in my bed, I heard low talking, the irregular chinking of armoury and felt them swerve through my bedroom…..all interesting stuff. The point is I think one is extra sensitive to a new abode as are the spirits who regularly pass through or by it. I also photographed many exceptional looking orbs plus a piece of weaponary which no one can identify and which projects out to one side of the photograph. It looks a cross between a oar and a peatcutting tool……again at the time I remember ‘someone’ passing through the room but thought it was my partner….but he was somewhere else at the time. It was only when I thought to photograph the spot that I caught this image. I think these things are harmless and we all have experience phenomenum….and are throughly used to it now …in fact when it goes quiet we all miss it !! So maybe enjoy and relish this connection with a spirit who is taking the trouble to join in with our everyday lives.

Prior to these occurances was all well and good within the property ? Have you had family, friends staying with you up to and after the start of these occurances ? Have you any young children or teenagers staying there ? Are these disturbances still continuing at this moment ?

I have a similar problem in my house and have tried everything to try putting a stop to it. In the end I have just had to accept what is going on, although it can be annoying at times. I have had my grand children staying here regularly (ages 6-14) and am sure this is something to do with it. If not totally responsible they certainly seem to prompt an increase in activity.

Have any you kept diaries of this activity?  It may identify any potential patterns that can be worked with.

When I moved into my partners house I swore it was haunted. The stairs would creak one at a time as if someone was walking up them. The kitchen cupboards doors would bang and the front door rattled.  Unfortuntely rather than being haunted it just turned out to be a badly built house with non draught proof wooden windows and doors.

However the house I was born in had something paranormal in.  The feeling of being watched, and shivers down your spine for no reason where more than childhood fears.  I think you know when the atmosphere of a house is beyond creepy.

    Best of luck though.

Is it possible that you are hearing the noises from a neighbour? The walls in new houses are very thin and especially at night/early hours of the morning! AND if you have a baby monitor on which will pick up noise from a couple of houses away!!! Check what kind of a job your neighbours do because it maybe that they work strange hours and you are hearing them making themselves a brew etc and not realising!  This is something i came to realise after hearing noises in my house once.  I know it sounds obvious and im not undermining your worry but sometimes explanations can be be as simple as that!  Hope you get the innocent, rational explanation. Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚
