They must have watched far too much South Park (and I must confess I am a massive fan of Cartman, Kenny and friends)…

This idea is BAD.  I wonder if Derek will get possessedby MJ and start talking really soft then do a back flip and moon dnace around the stage sing The Earth Song?  Now, that would be entertainment.

Have you seen Harry Hill commenting on Derek?  This is really funny.

Just watched it, and it was awful…nail in the proverbial coffin for Derek Acorah!!!

I went to my own private reading recently and it was nothing like this, the medium had to ask me questions to confirm whether I recognised any "people"………..
    This was just so bad!!

There is NO doubt in my mind that MJ was speaking through Derek tonight. Call me blancmange brain if you like, but I have been in touch with passed on spirits and he was there.

I just thank God that no one can finally get to him any more. He put us all to shame with his humanity for others and his total humility.

We ALL have been left with one hell of a lot to live up to.

Hellow lil_white08 and Fireboxchaser and welcome to the website and forum.  I avtually missed the programme as I forgot it was on, so I cannot comment, but I will try to catch a re-run or Youtube clips at some point.  It is interesting to see two very differant opinions of the show.

I do think that some psychics have genuine experiences but whether they are accuratley interpreted as contact with spirt, is, I beleive still open to debate and is a fascinating area to study.  I also think that just because it may be considered possibe to contact spirit, it does not mean everyone making that claim actually is doing so.

I saw Derek’s investigation into Guy Fawkes earlier today and something struck me.  Whilst at school in history they steered us away from memorising dates etc and concentrating on empathising with historical figures and how they must have felt.  Hence, don’t just think about dates relating coal mines, put yourslf in the position of a coal miner and the conditions they worked in.

Derek was describing events like this and then throwing in the odd name which was enough to ty it to a well known theory and lets face it, we are alll taught about the Gunpowder Plot and the details behind it.  For instance, at the tower he described pains in his wrists, maybe joints being popped, a pressure like the head being squeezed, pain in the thumbs and the smell of the torture (thoughh very very vague).  So he did not actually give factual details about what items were used to torture Guy, how long it took etc etc, but got across information in a way that could be interpreted several ways and at the same time, by not sticking to book facts make it appear like he is in contact with a spirit that went through that event and have a less chance of being proved wrong or discredited.

    Hi Ian!

Just thought I’d mention in case I came across as a skeptic in my previous post.
I wholeheartedly believe that some people do possess a gift that allows them to make contact with those who have passed on.
However, in my own experience of attending readings and psychic events, the mediums/psychics (not sure how they call themselves) announce that a man/woman has entered the room, spends time trying to identify them then forms the opinion of who they believe is present.
I have never placed much store in Derek Acorah’s abilities having watched Living TV’s "Most Haunted" and D.A’s own show on Sky TV. The fact that the others around the table were die-hard MJ fans also removed any authenticity that might have been present. A few non-believers, a definite skeptic, an expert in para-psychology and a close friend at the table would have given a less biased insight. Also, the fact that the "presenter" sitting beside them cut the séance short would lead on to believe that DA may not have made contact. For all we know it could have been another spirit impersonating MJ.

I am a big MJ fan and would have enjoyed this program more if another more reliable medium had hosted the ceremony.

Nothing wring with being skeptical Lil, I must admit I have become more so over the years.   I managed to catch a repeat, well as far as the first fan breaking down when given the opportunity to ask a question.  I actually saw and heard nothing that convinced me that they had contacted Michael Jackson and I actually could not bring myself to watch the rest.

Yes, definitely should’ve renamed the show C-Factor….CRINGE-factor.

Why does no one ever try to contact dead people who were worthwhile in life?  It always seems to me it’s Caesar or Hitler or Napoleon or Richard III…

Wouldn’t that be confusing for those people who believe they are the reincarnation of Caesar, Hitler, Napoleon, Mary Queen of Scots, Cleopatra, Richard III etc?

Oh dear! I didn’t actually see this but after reading other peoples reactions i’m glad that I didn’t.I did hear about a MJ seance and just thought “sick”. Why would MJ want to contact anyone to be honest, I should think he wants some peace, family maybe, Derek Acorah I think not. Derek Acorah is a showman and he needs to seriously prove otherwise. I started to doubt this man when he did Most Haunted, too dramatic.

I have been reliably informed that Derek was much more entertaining on Harry Hill, I actually couldn’t bring myself to watch the Seance.
