late 1986 our family moved into a newly built council house in Waterlooville Hampshire. We had a good income and could afford to get carpets and new furniture. Several months passed and we settled in. One evening when the three children were asleep in bed my husband was out and I was sat with my sister watching the telly. I suddenly felt a cold area between myself and my sister, i said nothing untill my sister asked me if I could feel that, I looked at her and we both froze as the frontroom door flew open and then swung back and forth at a violent rate.this was not an easy thing to happen as we had thick carpets and the door was stiff to close, We held our breath frozen to the spot untill it finished and then collapsed in terror clinging onto each other. we did not tell anyone and I made my sister stay with me the next night to see if it would happen again, it did at the same time 9.20 pm, this time we screamed and ran out the house. We told my husband and he got some friends to come over to see if it would happen again, no one believing anything would happen, it did and everyone except me and my sister ran out. I did not want the attention so I kept other events to myself. The smell in the house was at times overpowering so I had the council out, digging the back yard up to check the drains, nothing was found. The time I was in a hypnotic state and the house had a dense silence to it for some strange reason I took the the children upstairs into my bedroom and we all just sat silently while the neighbours were banging on the door telling me there was smoke coming from the kitchen window, I snapped out of it went to the kitchen and the white smoke dissapeared, not wanting the attention again I told them it was the tumble dryer. The time I picked up the phone to call my dad and I visualised a million wasps flying out my mouth into the phone, I screamed threw the phone down and my Dad thought something terriable had happened, when he came round again i pretendid it was something and nothing. The Clock on the wall would change time and fall off the wall, pictures would move. I was once sat in my neighbours and the front door opened and thudding foot steps were heared going up the stairs into the bedromm when we went up to investigate nothing was there.
I took my 3 kids and moved, not because of the strange things going on, our marriage was not healthy and part of me thinks this could of been one of the reasons the strange things happened.
a lot of other things have occured before and after, that i can maybe put down to my imagination. as there were witneses to these i thought I would share them to see if anyone has some suggestions. I would like to believe it was the trouble we had in our marriage and maybe it was because i had deppression without knowing, I think I prefer to believe that.

Hi bambam64, welcome to the website and thank you for sharing your experiences.  It is interesting that there were multiple witnesses to some of the events mentioned.

Thank you for your comment, my relatives often refered to me as a witch, this was ment as tongue in cheek. It was not funny for me as it made me feel different and I just wanted to be like everyone else, as all kids do, so any strange experiences I kept to my self. This one was not my imagination and could not be ignored, thank god and touch wood, nothing has happened for 4 years. when I get chance i will post some other things that have happened.

Hi bambam64! Thanks so much for sharing your story. Just because a house is newly built does not mean it cannot be haunted. Quite often it can be the land that a spirit is attached to. Perhaps you're one of the gifted people who have a heightened sense when it comes to ghosts and get a bigger introduction so to speak when you're discovering them.

I would definitely recommending doing research of the land your home is built upon. See where that takes you.

I agree with Andrasta.  Remember that just because a building is new built dosn't mean that it's the first building to sit on that site.  I've seen plenty of places, even deep in forests, where the only signs that there was previously a town was the old road bed, and occasionally stones in a square marking house locations.

Sometimes there are recleared and built up, and it sets off supernatural activity.

Thank you for your comment, I dont know why i thought a new built house would not be haunted, guess my brain linked hauntings with old things. I have always thought about looking into the history of where the house was built, do feel uneasy about that as would not like to encourage any strange things happening again. I know that sounds silly, dont know how the people that do the haunting programmes sleep at night. lol.

How do they sleep at night?  With many beautiful women on top of a pile of money.

I wish I got paid like some of them do.
