A friend mentioned this story to me the other day. We both remembered general details, but couldn't remember location or dates; I'm hoping it will ring a bell for someone here.
We think this took place on an island that was a British colony. A family had a crypt into which coffins containing the deceased were placed. Over the course of many years, every time a new coffin was interred, the older ones had been moved, disruped, piled upon each other, etc. All sorts of means and measures were taken to prove that no one was going into the vault and moving them around under cover of darkness. This went on for quite some time.
