Now a private residence, The Bell was a Grade II listed public house dating from the mid 18th century. The Luton Paranormal website refers to a time after 1984 when John and Margaret Pilgrim lived there. Linda, John’s sister saw the apparition of a young girl in the bar, by the fireplace, sweeping up leaves with a besom broom. The girl had asked for a better broom. The girl is thought to have been seen by other regulars to the pub.
