Prestwick Area

The area around Prestwick has been the focus of a number of UFO sightings.  Triangular shaped craft were seen by numerous witnesses during 1997, and several sightings were reported to the Air Traffic Control at Prestwick Airport. While some of the sightings can be attributed to aircraft others are more difficult to explain.

There was a big UFO scare around the same time when twirling spotlights projected from the Aquarium nightclub in Irvine, reflected on to clouds.

Directions: Between Ayr and Troon, the general area has had numerous sightings.
