Kellie Castle

The castle was originally in the hands of the Oliphant family who built it in the 14th century.  The castle is said to be the haunt of two spirits. The ghosts of James Lorimer, who leased the property in 1878 after it had been abandoned, is said to have been seen seated in one of the castles corridors. He completed an extensive renovation of the castle.

The other ghost is that of a lady called Ann Erskine, who fell to her death from one of the castle windows. She makes her presence felt by mysterious footsteps, which have no source.

Directions: The castle can be reached off the B9171, West of Arncroach.
