12th August 1983, Basingstoke Canal, Aldershot Hampshire
Albert Burtoo stands as the oldest UFO abductee, if his story is to be taken at face value. He was aged 77 at the time of the incident, and had just settled for a nights fishing session on the side of Basingstoke Canal. At about 1.00pm he noticed a bright light, which he took to be an army Helicopter from the nearby Para base. The object landed on the towpath of the canal some distance from him, and minutes later he noticed two beings about 4.5 feet tall wearing overalls with visors covering their faces. They motioned to him as though he was to follow them, which he did. They led him to a rounded object that jutted out over the canal from the towpath, and they all climbed inside.
They asked Albert his age and asked him to stand under an amber light, after a short time he was told that he could leave the object being too old and infirm for their purposes. He returned to his place by the canal and watched as a light rose in the sky and flew away. Albert died in 1985 but never changed the story of his abduction. There were no independent witnesses to the event, and there could be various explanations.

1st December 1987, Ilkley Moor, Yorkshire England
A former Police Officer, who has not been named, set off from his home early in the morning to visit a relative who lived in nearby East Morton. He decided to travel over moorland and took with him a camera. As he was walking near an old excavation, something caught the corner of his eye, and he turned to see a small green creature with overlong arms standing about 4 feet in height, running towards the hollow in the hillside. He shouted at the creature, which waved its arms at him, and he managed to snap a picture. The photograph, when developed showed a strange figure with long arms ascending a moorland track. The roll was examined and found to have not been tampered with, and the object seems to be a solid figure, and not a smudge or a film fault. He underwent hypnotic regression, which brought forth memories of a classic abduction scenario.
1989 Bonnybridge, near Shieldhill, Scotland
| In a well-witnessed UFO sighting, a fire crew were attending a blaze at Gradrum Moss, when a red object appeared to be hovering in the distance. This came towards the fire engine and then flew off towards the West. A second object then appeared, it was white and hovered above Loch Ellrig at about twenty feet from the witnesses. This then rushed towards them before veering away at the last moment. A third object was also seen passing overhead. The case was investigated by Malcolm Robinson.
The press were soon to dub Bonnybridge 'The UFO Capital of Scotland' after a spate of sightings.
