The Anglesey Arms

This traditional Welsh inn is a stone’s throw from the magnificent Caernarfon Castle, at the end of Castle Hill road. It overlooks the Menai Straits, and it is allegedly haunted. The building was formerly the Customs House in the 18th Century, and it situated on the site of Caernarfon’s ‘Hanging Tower’ which was the place of execution in the town.

Unexplained happenings that have been reported by customers of the Anglesey Arms include:
1. Glasses on the bar moving by themselves, and even hanging in mid air.
2. Darts have been seen to jump out of the dart board.
3. Room 3 on the second floor is allegedly the most haunted room in the pub. Guests have spoken of something sitting on the end of the bed, having their head pressed into the pillow, hearing somebody running in the room, witnessing the door handle moving up and down frantically, and the door key rattling in the door.
