We have chosen to outline some of the more famous British ghosts and ghost stories, some based on legend, and some on modern investigations. The distinction will be clear within the text.
Many ghost stories are heavily based on folklore and legend, such as those at Glamis Castle, although there may have been some strange event that started the ball rolling. It is important to separate the legends from the strange experiences some witnesses have encountered.
Probably the most famous case is that of Borley Rectory, which is still subject to much debate within paranormal circles, in the future we will expanding the selection with a mix of old and new hauntings.
