Theobalds Park is a large mansion house built in the eighteenth century and extended in the nineteenth century. It is now a luxury hotel. The ghost of Lady Meux (1847-1910) has been seen on the main staircase.

Does anyone have any stories about Clophill? There’s a lot written about the incidents of Devil Worship at the church, which began in 1963. This seems to have led to a rise to a whole host of ghostly sightings there right up to present day.
I’m currently producing a documentary on Clophill, so would be interested in hearing any stories.

I often visit Grafham Waters in Huntingdonshire and it is whilst walling around the village of Perry, I always detect an uneasy feeling whilst walking past a smaller car park just outside of Perry – I think its the ‘Mander’ car park.
James Parnell the Quaker Martyr died in Colchester Castle on 10 April 1656. The conditions of his cell, the cruelty of his jailer Nicholas Roberts and injuries from a fall from a rope all contributed to his death. His ghost is said to haunt his old cell.
