Dumfries UFO (1978)

On 31st December 1978 an object was seen hovering in the sky above Dumfries by numerous witnesses, the incident was explained as a meteorite, but many eyewitnesses were adamant it was not.

Polbeth UFO (1995)

In November 1995 Brian Curran took video footage of an orange stationary object with a dimpled surface. Later analysis showed that there were two small portions missing from the object that seemed to fill back in. The encounter ended when the object shot off at great speed.

Dechmont Woods Encounter

Bob Taylor’s encounter with the mysterious spheres in Dechmont wood near Livingston in Scotland, is probably one of the most written about cases of a close encounter in Britain. The case stands as one of the most intriging in British Ufology.

Bonnybridge UFOs

1989 Bonnybridge, near Shieldhill, Scotland: In a well-witnessed UFO sighting, a fire crew were attending a blaze at Gradrum Moss, when a red object appeared to be hovering in the distance. This came towards the fire engine and then flew off towards the West. A second object then appeared, it was white and hovered above Loch Ellrig at about twenty feet from the witnesses.

Falkirk UFO (1996)

In October 1996 Barry Macdonald filmed a UFO in Falkirk, which consisted of an orange oval changing to a white disc shape, before changing back to orange, then white, and then disappearing suddenly.

Broad Haven

Broad Haven was the scene of a UFO flap during the late 1970’s. There were several reported sightings; the most widely publicised was the strange visitation to a field near to Broad Haven primary school in February 1977.

Cader Idris

This holy mountain has a rock seat called ‘The Seat of Prince Idris’. It is said that anyone who spends the night alone on the mountain will either die, become insane or become a poet.

The seat of Prince Idris is also known as the Chair of Idris, and was named after a giant who was said to view the heavens from this lofty point.

Holyhead UFO

In 1743 a farmer near Holyhead, Anglesey is alleged to have witnessed a ‘boat’ sailing in the clouds at about 1500 feet. The story appeared in the ‘Flying Saucer Review’ in 1971.

Llanerchymedd UFO (1978)

On 1st September 1978 in Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, some young boys who were playing football saw what they thought was a helicopter land in a field close to where they were playing. They went over out of curiosity and found that it was a white object like a smooth nosed rocket. They went to fetch some adults who also witnessed two 6-foot humanoids in one-piece suits near to the object.

Cader Bronwen UFO

On 23rd January 1974 around 8.30pm something is supposed to have crashed into the side of Cader Bronwen in Clwyd in Wales. The police sealed off the general area and military helicopters were also witnessed in the location. The event has been subject to much speculation.
