Devil's Ditch, Garboldisham


The Devil's Ditch which possibly dates from the Iron Age, though was probably recut in the Middle Saxon period, is a two long ditch with low flanking banks. Legend suggests that Castle Hill in nearby Thetford was created when the Devil scraped off some dirt from either his shovel or boots after digging Devil's Ditch.
