The following account was published in ‘Notes on the folk-lore of the northern counties of England and the borders’ by William Henderson. ‘Mrs. Hunt also told me of an experience she and a friend once had in a Liverpool church. I could not persuade her to name the church, she would only say it was near Chapel Street.
The Stocksbridge Bypass linking the M1 Motorway and the A628 Woodhead Pass Road was opened in May 1988. Since its construction the road has been associated with strange experiences and a ghostly monk.

According to a BBC article entitled ‘Leicestershire’s Most Haunted’ (31/10/2006), ‘The Talbot Inn in Belgrave was believed to have served criminals on the way to being hung their last meal (or rather ale!).
The following account appeared in ‘Notes on the Folk-lore of the Northern Counties of England and the Borders’ by William Henderson (1879) “At Dalton, near Thirsk,” writes Mr. Baring-Gould, “is an old barn, which is haunted by a headless woman. One night a tramp went into it to sleep.

Apparently there have been reports of a black dog that has been seen seen on the road between Spinkhill and Killamarsh. It is thought to appears to lone drivers.

The wonderful four-star Oatlands Park Hotel is built within the grounds of a Royal Palace and may have a reputation of being haunted. The Tudor Palace of Oatlands was demolished following the execution of King Charles I (Died 1649). A house, possibly a hunting lodge associated with Palace survived and was eventually enlarged, extended and renovated into a mansion.

The Old Queens Head public house is a Grade II listed building that dates from 1475 and is thought to be the oldest domestic building in Sheffield.
The Vickers Corridor at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield is named after Edward Vickers and has a reputation of being haunted.

The ruins of Grace Dieu Priory have a reputation of being haunted. The Priory was founded between 1235 and 1241 for Augustinian nuns by Rose de Verdon and was closed during the Dissolution in October 1538.
