Warblington Castle
An octagonal turret or tower from the gatehouse is all that remains of the Grade II listed Warblington Castle, which could have been described as a moated manor house. Situated on private land, the castle is not accessible, which reputedly does not stop its ghostly visitors.
Flookburgh Big Cat (2012)
On 16 July 2012 the following North West Evening Mail story by Ross Tyson entitled ‘Big cat’ spotted on road’ was published.
A COUPLE claim to have spotted a mysterious panther-like big cat while on holiday in the Lakes.
Tynedale Big Cat (2000)
The Hexham Courant published the following article by J Marley entitled ‘Mystery of big cats’ on Friday 3 March 2000.
THE descriptions all seem to match != black, the size of a labrador and with a long tail sweeping down to the ground != and over the past few years there have been dozens of reports from across the district of sightings of big cats.

Warblington Parsonage
The parsonage in Warblington was said to be haunted in the late 17th century. Though I do not believe the building to exist today, I understand it may have stood on Pook Lane. Below is how the story was published in 1897 in ‘The Haunted Homes and Family Traditions of Great Britain’ by John Ingram.
St. Catherine’s Hill
St. Catherine’s Hill is a prominent chalk hill not far from Winchester in Hampshire’s South Downs. The hill appears to have had a significant place in local life since early times, and indeed the remains of an iron age hillfort can still be seen there today, hinting that St. Catherine’s Hill was of military, economic and perhaps spiritual importance.
Big Cat Sightings In Cumbria
On 14 November 2011, the following article by S Crawford entitled ‘Police open big cat sightings files’ was published in the News and Star. ‘CUMBRIA police have opened their files on big cat sightings in the county.
Since 2003 there have been 40 reports, the majority being of big black panther-type creatures or lynxes.
