Cholesbury Camp

The oval shaped Cholesbury Camp or The Danish Camp is a multivallate Iron Age hill fort covering 15 acres with ramparts measuring between 9.5 ft. and 34 ft in height. Within the defences can be found the Church of St Lawrence and if stories are to be believed, phantom animals that have been heard snorting and fighting each other.

Calverley Old Hall

Now a holiday let, parts of this Grade I listed building date from the 15th Century and it was the home of the Calverley Family.

Warblington Castle

An octagonal turret or tower from the gatehouse is all that remains of the Grade II listed Warblington Castle, which could have been described as a moated manor house. Situated on private land, the castle is not accessible, which reputedly does not stop its ghostly visitors.

A COUPLE claim to have spotted a mysterious panther-like big cat while on holiday in the Lakes.

Tynedale Big Cat (2000)

The Hexham Courant published the following article by J Marley entitled ‘Mystery of big cats’ on Friday 3 March 2000.

THE descriptions all seem to match != black, the size of a labrador and with a long tail sweeping down to the ground != and over the past few years there have been dozens of reports from across the district of sightings of big cats.
