We stayed far too much time without mentioning that old-time favorite, Springheel Jack.
Since I am lazy this is a nice and brief chronology of his activities I’ve found on the Internet.
There are a few very interesting facts about this strange phenomenon.
I have been reading up on a few definitions. Divination is a method of obtaining unknown knowledge. Necromancy is a form of divination through communicating with the dead. Therefore, does this make everyone who uses Oui Ja boards, all spiritualists and anyone on a vigil who says "Is there anybody there?" a Necromancer?
Do ghostly apparitions actually make a noise? If they are physical manifestations of a lost soul or some sort of hallucination, it should not preclude them from being accompanied by some sort of noise, or even a smell. Do ghosts go WOO? I’m probably wrong, but I can’t remember coming across an apparition that was both seen and heard or smelt.
There have been many sightings of Big Cats in the UK. One suggested reason for this is the introduction of the dangerous wild animals act in 1976. It is thought that when faced with the restrictions introduced, some collectors simply released their animals into the wild.
Whilst reading about old rituals you cannot help but notice the use of plants in them. One such plant Vervain (Enchanter’s plant, Herb of the Cross, Holy herb, Juno’s tears, Pigeon’s grass, Pigeonweed, Simpler’s joy, Herb of Grace) or given it’s latin name Verbena officinalis was used by Levi whilst doing his famous summoning and has connections with Midsummers Eve.
I was sat watching Finding Nemo over Christmas and got to thinking about the reports of Sea Monsters around the UK, maybe I was drinking too much…..who knows. If they exist wouldn’t they migrate, such as whales etc and therefore wouldn’t sightings be restricted to certain times of the year? Who knows it may be possible to work out a potential migratory pattern.
